Operator deployment drivers for 5G networks are shifting as focus moves beyond just faster speeds to new markets and services where advanced 5G functions come into play. This shift has big implications for supporting transport networks, including fronthaul, midhaul, and backhaul – collectively called “xHaul.” This Heavy Reading white paper, co-sponsored by Infinera as part of the Operator Strategies for 5G Transport Survey project, focuses on xHaul network considerations and requirements as operators work to meet the new challenges of advanced 5G services delivery.
