Innovation evolved: Time-based Instant Bandwidth
Infinera has now advanced the Instant Bandwidth solution to offer a new on-demand Time-based capability. It enables network operators to temporarily activate line-side bandwidth in 25 Gb/s, 37.5Gb/s, 50 Gb/s or 100 Gb/s increments depending on application, with deactivation at the end of a customer-specified time period. It helps fine-tune the bandwidth characteristics to more closely match traffic patterns, service demands, and network disruptions. Time-based Instant Bandwidth offers flexible control of network capacity as well as its duration, thereby, facilitating truly dynamic capabilities to build an Intelligent Transport Network.
Comparing Infinera Instant Bandwidth with the Competition
Infinera Instant Bandwidth enables operators to deploy WDM capacity in various increments including 100 Gb/s the same day as they turn on the customer services. In contrast, competitive solutions use conventional architecture that results in a time “penalty”.
