WA’A 400G Digital Signal Processor
High Performance and Design Simplicity
The WA’A 400G is a high-performance digital signal processor (DSP) designed to power a new generation of intelligent coherent pluggables. It plays a key role in enabling high optical performance through its support for digital subcarriers, high-performance DAC/ADC, and high-bandwidth radio frequency (RF) interconnect. It supports different modulation schemes, such as QPSK, 8QAM, and 16QAM, to maximize wavelength capacity over any given fiber link, and performs advanced digital signal processing algorithms to compensate for distortions in the optical signal caused by dispersion and other factors. It also performs forward error correction (FEC) to ensure error-free transmission of data over optical fiber. The WA’A 100G DSP offers virtual transponder functions and supports various channels for in-band and out-of-band communication between the different coherent pluggables.
Infinera’s WA’A 400G is currently used in Infinera’s ICE-X 400G XR and ICE-X 400G ZR+ Intelligent Coherent Pluggables, which have been granted numerous industry awards in addition to setting many industry records for optical performance.
