High Performance and Design Simplicity

Tahoe 800G is a high-performance digital signal processor (DSP) designed to power the new generation of 800G ZR/ZR+ intelligent coherent pluggables. It leverages the power and efficiencies of 3-nm-based CMOS technology and supports advanced multi-vendor interoperability, including open probabilistic constellation shaping (PCS) to build high-performance 800 Gb/s coherent pluggables in compact form factors such as QSFP-DD800 and OSFP.

Tahoe 800G plays a key role in enabling high optical performance through its high-performance DAC/ADC and high-bandwidth radio frequency (RF) interconnect. It supports different modulation schemes, such as QPSK, 8QAM, and 16QAM, and open PCS to maximize wavelength capacity over any given fiber link. It also performs advanced digital signal processing algorithms to compensate for distortions in the optical signal caused by dispersion and other factors, in addition to forward error correction (FEC) to ensure error-free transmission of data over optical fiber.
