Infinera and Mobile World Live Address Trends in 5G Network Architectures and Transformation
By Jon Baldry

Recently Infinera partnered with Mobile World Live to sponsor two industry surveys around 5G adoption and publish corresponding reports detailing the findings of each survey. Mobile World Live is the communications arm of the GSMA, the largest wireless industry organization and the organizers of the Mobile World Congress series of events.
We just published the second report in the series, 5G Network Architectures: From X-haul Transport to Multi-Layer Service Slicing. This survey revealed that resolving 5G transport issues is a high priority for communication service providers (CSPs) and showed that while they are concerned with meeting capacity and low latency requirements in the near term, they are also preparing to support advanced 5G features such as X-haul, network slicing and multi-access edge computing. To learn more about CSPs’ strategies for rolling out 5G and the challenges that they face as a result of its complexity, download the report.
Our earlier report, Operator Strategies for Disaggregation, addresses the disaggregation of IP routing in 5G networks to gain further understanding of how CSPs are thinking about transport evolution strategies. Learn more about the top benefits of disaggregated architectures, like cost savings and deployment flexibility, as well as the challenges of managing 5G evolution and its inherent complexity, here.
For even more insight on 5G network architectures and transformation, check out our two recent Mobile World Live webinars. These webinars bring the reports and the industry trends they detail to life against the dramatic backdrop of London’s Tower Bridge.
