Bringing Hope and Joy To Those In Need This Holiday Season

By Lisa Cianciarulo
Corporate Paralegal

Infinera recently participated in the Family Giving Tree’s 2016 Holiday Wish Drive, one of the many community service projects coordinated by the Infinera Community Fund.

Since 2013, Infinera’s Sunnyvale-based employees have participated in this gift drive, fulfilling the wishes of local children and adults in need. This year, Infinera employees again rallied to support those less fortunate, donating 170 gifts. In doing so, Infinera employees set yet another year-over-year record for gifts donated to this cause.

On behalf of Infinera’s Community Fund, I would like to thank all the Infinera employees who helped support the Family Giving Tree’s 2016 Holiday Wish Drive. Looking ahead to this event next year, I am excited to think about the impact Infinera will make.

About the Infinera Community Fund: In 2010, Infinera launched the Infinera Community Fund (ICF), run by an all-employee volunteer team based out of corporate headquarters in Sunnyvale, California. Each quarter, Infinera employees collaborate with a local charity to help men, women, and children in surrounding neighborhoods. Through ICF, Infinera also support local causes with regular employee matching donations. For more information on Infinera’s Community Fund, please click here.

About the Family Giving Tree: The Family Giving Tree was founded 25 years ago, with the vision of providing holiday gifts to children in need in East Palo Alto. Now, 25 years later, the Family Giving Tree is the largest gift and backpack donation program in California, having served more than 1,000,000 children and adults living in the Bay Area. The Family Giving Tree fulfils their exact holiday wishes and provides backpacks filled with school supplies to those children in the most need in our communities while inspiring the values of kindness, philanthropy, and volunteerism. The Family Giving Tree envisions a world where every child is made to feel like a valuable part of his or her community through a shared belief in the power of giving.
