Howard Lukens is Vice President of Strategic Sales at Infinera. He had previously served as Vice President of Worldwide Strategic Sales for CIENA, where he was responsible for CIENA's largest sales initiatives and strategic partnerships. Mr. Lukens joined CIENA through the acquisition of Lightera Networks, where he was Vice President of Worldwide Sales for the market-leading CoreDirector intelligent optical switch. Before joining Lightera, Mr. Lukens served as Vice President of North America Sales a CIENA from 1996-1998. Previously, Mr. Lukens was Regional Sales Director for StrataCom up until its acquisition by Cisco.

Mr. Lukens earned his BS in Management from George Mason University and has 25 years of executive-level sales and marketing management experience in the telecommunications area.
