Infinera's Mission

Earn a superior return by enabling our customers to build and operate the world's best optical networks

University Relations Program

At Infinera, we aren't just running an intern program. Our University Relations team seeks to identify those particular students who want to partner with us to launch their career and advance the optical network. We are looking for future Infinera leaders, not just students to fill slots.

We intentionally select our intern team each year to ensure that we are able to give you an individual experience. This includes exposure to strategic projects, opportunities to interact with our top Executives, hands-on work that impacts our products and vision, and mentoring connections. All of this support is in place to ensure that you have the most successful experience possible. We are equipping you to be more than just an intern--we want to give you the tools you need to become a part of the Infinera team and a future leader in optical networking.

  • You will have the opportunity to work with the best and brightest in all fields of engineering from optics to software. You will attend the critical decision-making meetings and we'll ask you to weigh in with your recommendations.
  • You will join a community of people who know as much about having a good time as they do about building the next communications infrastructure.
  • You will become a part of a team that has transformed the impossible into the possible by their profound understanding of technology, their determination and their ability to work together towards an extraordinary goal. That same team places significant value on new ideas--your ideas!

We know that there is a lot that you can learn in an academic setting and we continue to be impressed by the talented students we meet on university campuses. But we also recognize that certain things can only be learned by stepping out of the classroom and into a dynamic work environment that fosters creativity, personal growth and intellectual excellence. That's where we come into play.

We certainly hope that Infinera can offer you that exceptional opportunity and we are confident that you will find our intern program both rewarding and fun. However, wherever you end up we encourage you to keep questioning the status-quo and challenging yourself and those around you to do something extraordinary.
